Le Mans racing comes to Silverstone

The weekend of the 10th/11th September sees a full grid of Le Mans Prototypes and GTs take to the full Silverstone Grand Prix circuit in the Autosport 6 hours of Silverstone, a round of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup and the Le Mans Series.

Autosport 6 hours of Silverstone

We have received overwhelming demand for tickets for this race - proving once again that Endurance Sportscar racing is on the up here in the UK. I'm sure you, like us, are waiting with baited breath for more details on next years FIA World Endurance Championship!

The 6 hours of Silverstone will see Aston Martin return to the Le Mans Series...but with the Lola Aston Martins they ran in 2010 rather than this years troublesome AMR One. They are joined in LMP1 not only with the lead protagonists for the Le Mans Series crown, Rebellion Racing and Pescarolo but also the works teams from Peugeot and Audi. After their bitter tustle at Le Mans in June, there are bound to be fireworks from these two teams - lets hope we get as fierce a battle as played out at La Sarthe!

LMP2 is also set to be closely contested with the early season pacesetters with Nissan engines finally facing some pressure from the Honda engined cars.

In GTE Pro we have two of the lovely Lotus Evoras and we hope that the development programme for these cars has resulted in an increase in pace since June. Also offering a contract to the usual Ferrari and Porsche entries are the BMW M3s.

We hope to see as many familiar faces as possible over the weekend. Speed Chills Girls Lorena, Jessica, Emily and Alice will be at the circuit on both Saturday and Sunday so please say hello if you see them out and about. The girls are also sampling a fantastic new concept - Snoozebox; an on circuit portable hotel concept that we can't wait to see at Le Mans in 2012! More news about Snoozebox after Silverstone...
