I have been looking through them and it has been great remembering all the good times we have had! For the Speed Chills Girls it has now been 3 great years of exciting events such as Le Mans, Silverstone, Spa, Britcar and more! It all reminds us of how lucky we are to do what we do and to be a part of the Speed Chills team.

We have also added a section for videos on or site! Would be great to hear from you all if you have any photos or videos you want to share so please contact us if you do. You can also share a story behind a photo or a video; you never know we might just love it enough and post it!

Speed Chills join Snoozebox at Silverstone Britcar 24 hours

Snoozebox at the Britcar 24

As some of you might already know Snoozebox are at Silverstone; we joined them for the weekend for Britcar 24 hours. We arrived there on the Saturday to find an amazing crowd of people waiting to enjoy the race and weekend. The gorgeous weather obviously added to the whole experience but we were all pleasantly surprised to see such a great turn out.

I compared it to a very mini Le Mans purely because of the atmosphere, weather and so many people camping and sunbathing. The race started at about 4.30pm so we made our way tLorena with Helf for Heroeso the grid just before which was amazing. I have never been in such a busy grid; it all felt very relaxed and fun.

After the race started i made my way doing the rounds saying hello to everyone, telling them about Snoozebox and Speed Chills. I must say Britcar 24 hours was a very eventful and exciting race to watch! I was very lucky to experience some of it at the pitlane during the race with some of our friends who were doing filming and commentary for the Britcar live stream. This was a whole new experience for me as i never thought i would be able to do it. It was so exciting getting to see the cars as they came in and talk to everyone; definitely a highlight!

Britcar 24 action

The guys from The Gadget Show were also there racing in their simulator which was brilliant to watch. They also stayed at Snoozebox so we caught up with them when they went back. On the Sunday again we were very lucky with the weather. I visited a friend of mine Ian from Popbangcolour, he was working on some stuff in one of the garages which was great to watch! Overall great day and great weekend!

Silverstone and Snoozebox

Written by Lorena Wednesday, 14 September 2011 05:00

The Speed Chills Girls set off to Silverstone on the Saturday 10th September for the Autosport 6 hours and stayed there overnight and each got our very own Snoozebox rooms!

Snoozebox at night - Autosport 6 hours

When we arrived we were so relieved to see we were so close to the action! Usually, to get good accommodation we have to stay a long way away from the circuit we are visiting.

Next to all the rooms was a lovely hospitality area with tables, chairs, sofas, food and drinks; this was very useful over the weekend. Once we met the delightful Snoozebox team we made our way to our rooms!

I cannot say enough good things about the rooms, we were so impressed! The rooms included:

  • Comfortable double bed with memory foam mattress
  • Flat screen digital TV
  • Free Wireless internet connection
  • Heating/air con
  • Power sockets
  • Motorsport themed decorations
  • Storage
  • Towels and toiletries
  • Wet room with Shower and Toilet

After a long day at Silverstone we were all very excited to go back to the marquee for some drinks and then to our rooms

for some well earned rest. The staff at the marquee were so friendly and attentive. The next day we all struggled to leave our rooms as we were so comfortable; that mattress is wonderful!

We can't say enough good things about our Snoozebox experience; even though we were so close to the action, the rooms were surprisingly quiet and extremely comfortable. To any of you considering a luxury stay at any future motorsport events I would definitely recommend Snoozebox!

Watch this space as we are very excited for a potential joint partnership with them; I know i am excited!

Le Mans 2011 Charity Pit Lane Donations

Written by Lorena Saturday, 03 September 2011 11:00

This year at Speed Chills we really wanted to do something to help make a difference however big or small it might be.

Katie in the Krohn Racing garage at Le Mans 2011

For those of you lucky ones who came to Le Mans with us this year, you will remember the pit walk we managed to organise. This was possible thanks to the brilliant guys at Rebellion Racing and Krohn Racing. We have worked with both teams in the past and are always keen to work with them as they have been so kind to us.Neel Jani (Rebellion Racing) Le Mans 2011

Customers that went along were asked for donations that have gone to the Japanese Red Cross. Thanks to everyone’s help and donations we managed to raise a total of 800 Euros which is so great!

So again thank you to our lovely customers; we sincerely hope you enjoyed the pit lane walk. And again huge thank you to Rebellion & Krohn for making it happen!

We will make sure we go see them all at Silverstone!

Looking ahead to Silverstone

What a busy summer it has been having done the Le Mans 24 hours back in June which was an extremely busy time for Speed Chills! Thank you to everyone for all their hard work and special thanks to all of you for making our trip worthwhile.

Lorena in the Pitlane at Le Mans 2011

It was great seeing our usual friends at RML, Rebellion Racing, Krohn Racing, CRS Racing, Aston Martin and more. One of the many highlights at Le Mans was to finally

get to catch up with the guys at Eurosport who kindly invited us over for a chat with them live. This was a great experience for us and we got to enjoy the view of the race from where the commentators are! We know some of you heard us as we had great feedback and reaction on our social media pages.

After chatting to so many people over on Twitter and Facebook it was amazing to get to meet so many of you in person too! We hope to see you all at many more of our events and stay tuned for more surprises along the way.

We really look forward to catching up with everyone in September at Silverstone for the 6 hour LMS race; if you have not bought your ticket yet what are you waiting for? J This should be a relaxing but entertaining day at the home of British motor racing. No other better way to enjoy the last European race in the ILMC. Also coming up we have the Moto 24 at Le Mans for which we offer self drive packages and tickets so be sure to check it out on our site.

See you all very soon and will be updating you with more information about upcoming events.

1000km of Spa

Written by Lorena Thursday, 12 May 2011 16:00

What a brilliant weekend at Spa! Finally we can understand why the circuit is many drivers favorite. After a few months of anticipation and chatting to many of you on Twitter/Facebook it was really great to get to meet some of you!

It was a sad start on the Friday as RML crashed during qualifying which meant they were unable to race on Saturday. This was a big disappointment to the team but we all managed to have a good day and had lunch together including Ben Collins. We then saw the guys again after the race on Saturday at their hospitality for a chat and some drinks, truly a lovely team!

Krohn Racing Ferrari F430 at Spa

A big thank you to Krohn Racing for having us! We were very happy to meet the drivers Tracy W. Krohn and Nic Jönsson at the signings and to do the Grid on the Saturday with them. The drivers were incredibly chatty and kind to us; they made us feel very welcome. Our weekend wouldn’t have been complete without a visit over at the Rebellion Racing pits and hospitality. We finally got to meet the lovely Neel Jani and Nico Prost. We got to watch the race with them for a while and we managed to make an appearance on TV which was great!

We finished watching the race with some of the guys from CRS Racing and also with Rebellion Racing. We ended our evening with the guys from CRS including their driver Phil Quaife who all spoiled us with drinks, chocolate and a BBQ!

Great to have the L'endurance guys with us for the weekend too (@lendurancelive) - looking forward to the next edition Jake - hope you got some great photos at Spa!

Overall a great weekend; amazing track, great weather, lovely cars and fantastic company! We could not have asked for anything more. Roll on June for Le Mans 24 hours, see you there!

Our photos from Spa will be on our flickr site really soon!

Endurance racing season has well and truly commenced!

Written by Lorena Wednesday, 23 March 2011 16:00

So as most of you racing fans will know it was the 59th running of the 12 hours of Sebring last week. And what a thrilling race that was!

Rebellion Racing Lola-Toyota at SebringFortunately for us who couldn’t be there in Florida, we had amazing coverage from the L'endurance guys over on Twitter (@lendurancelive). They did a fantastic job at keeping us up to date from start to end. Thanks guys, hope you caught up with your sleep!

Oreca Matmut took first place followed by Highcroft Racing and third place went to Peugeot Sport Total! Even though we weren’t there, this has unquestionably sparked a lot of anticipation for this year’s racing season!

We were also so pleased to see the lovely Rebellion Racing team making their Sebring debut. Well done to the team’s drivers Nicolas Prost, Neel Jani and Jeroen Bleekemolen who did a great job! Look forward to seeing the team’s performance at the 6 Hours of Le Castellet in April!

Now Sebring has ended and the Le Mans Series season is about to begin, we are beyond excited and busy with preparations! It is only just over 2 months to Le Mans 24 hours! We cannot wait to see everyone there!

Who needs the AA when Perry McCarthy is on hand…

Written by Katie Wednesday, 16 March 2011 17:00

So as we’ve already told you, we had the pleasure of meeting Perry McCarthy a.k.a. The Original Stig at last years Le Mans 24 hours. Did we also mention he was our hero for the afternoon?Jessie, Lorena & Katie meet The Original Stig

As you can imagine being a Speed Chills Girl means we get treated to the full 5* luxury experience…OK, we wish! But last year we did have use of a beautifully vintage (OK, slightly creaky) mini bus to taxi us between the track and the Speed Chills campsites at Bleu Sud and Beausejour. So imagine our dismay when we tried to set off and the van wouldn't start.

Luckily for us Perry, who had decided to accompany us to Beausejour to sample some Speed Chills hospitality, was on board. He offered up his services and hopped behind the wheel.  Of course he got it going in a flash and proceeded to chauffeur us all back to the campsite. I wonder how many people have had the honour of being driven by the one and only Original Stig? I really do love my job!

Hope it’s not too long before we get to catch up with Perry again soon, such a great character.
