A BRIEF HISTORY OF SPEED CHILLS

July 2003 - original concept discussed over lunch - this is the moment when the Le Mans fan and the chef decided to do something...

November 2003 - Le Mans Endurance Series 100km race. The chefs first visit to La Sarthe. First venue identified for 'Speed Chills' Private Members Club .

January 2004 - Agreement reached with owner of the venue. Supplier relations formed - at least we'll have beer and meat!

February 2004 - Speed Chills Limited officially registered at Companies House.

April 2004 - Pre-qualifying weekend for Le Mans. Site visit results in directors giving definite 'green light' - 6 weeks to get ready for launch.

June 2004 - Speed Chills launches at Le Mans to an enthusiastic membership...or perhaps it was just that England played France at the round ball game and people wanted to watch it. Whatever it was thank you!

September 2004 - the inevitable financial loss of the first year ensures that there will be a second year of Speed Chills @ Le Mans.

December 2004 - Speed Chills Tours is born. Working with partners A Golfing Experience, we diversify into the self-drive package market with a simple one package formula.

March 2005 - Speed Chills Private Members Club for June sold out.

April 2005 - Preparations for the Rock 'n Roll show step up a gear with a site visit during the Moto 24. Arthur Brown, Chris Murray and Birdwrench Hoffman will play in the barn over Le Mans weekend.

June 2005 - Speed Chills 2nd Private Members Club at Le Mans. Extreme weather conditions cause some supply chain dramas but overall feedback positive.

October 2005 - Reduced numbers of members and a totally new front and back of house model is devised for Speed Chills at Le Mans 2006.

January 2006 - Speed Chills Private Members Club membership removed from the website - effectively sold out.

February 2006 - Speed Chills announces partnership with Creation AIM, leading UK based sportscar team and LMP1 entrants for LMS & Le Mans.

May 2006 - Speed Chills Tours sold out - from a standing start our simple package offering exceeds all expectations with 100% year on year growth.

June 2006 - Our 3rd Le Mans and fine weather again graces us. Feedback is universally positive and the 'crew' of 20 people enjoy their first outing. 12 members 'win' visits to the Creation AIM pit garage during the race - all get to see at least one hour of the race from the teams perspective.

July 2006 - over 100 people attend the Le Mans Classic with Speed Chills Tours; another victory for the simple package concept.

August 2006 - Speed Chills Bar & Grill launched in support of Creation AIM's participation in the Donington Park round of the LMS. Creation drivers Nic Minassion, Jamie Campbell-Walter and Kevin McGarrity visit the Bar & Grill on the evening before the race and spend nearly 2 hours with the fans. The Speed Chills Bar & Grill is located at The Park Farmhouse Hotel.

November 2006 - Plans for Le Mans 2007 are announced and a new look website launched.

November 2006 - Home Chills launched. This new offering was developed to give the very best in event catering and hospitality at your home, club or other preferred venue.

March 2007 - enlarged Private Members Club for Le Mans effectively sold out.

June 2007 - Everyone fear a wet Le Mans, however, Speed Chills members are able to shelter from the worst of the weather and keep up to speed with the race on the TV. Feedback again universally positive with the 'crew' (as is becoming usual) coming in for particular praise.

October 2007 - discussions commence with the ACO regarding a closer relationship; until Speed Chills has operated on private land adjacent to the ACO's interests.

January 2008 - Camp Creation is born; resulting from our relationship with the ACO. This unique offering allows race fans to play an active part in supporting Creation AIM at Le Mans as well as offering a secure camping facility. The advent of Camp Creation sees the Private Members Club move from its traditional location to being within the confines of the secure camping environment.

January 2008 - the new website is launched opening bookings for Moto 24, Moto GP, Le Mans, Classic Le Mans and the Weekend of Automobile Excellence in Reims. Business is brisk!
